SUMMER
Numerous beaches
and
coves to visit, picnics (we can provide them), water-sports,
going
out on boat trips or mackerel-fishing in July. Take the
children
to explore the rockpools or go crabbing near the beach huts. There is
so much to do and watch from sailing competitions to firework displays
and festivals. Wander round the Marinas or just sit and laze on the
beach. Mackerel fishing boat trips from Brixham and Paignton run in
July and
August.
AUTUMN
Is lovely! The days
are
shorter but can get quite hot in mid-day. Generally the
temperatures are of course lower than summer and the humidity is less,
so this is ideal weather for getting out and about! Autumn is
ideal
for
walking and exploring, easy to park and not as crowded as
in the
summer and many attractions remain open through to the end of
October or
all year. In Autumn visit places like Bicton Park Botanical Gardens for
the beautiful autumnal colours (open all year) and Coleton Fishacre
(NT) with its beautiful arden and 1930's house - only 12 mins by car.
rain? - Don't let it put you off!
Of course
there are rainy days throughout the
year. But even then there is plenty to do and see. There are
inside activities like the Waves
Leisure Pool at the English Riviera Centre, Kent's
Cavern whatever the weather, Museums and historic houses,
plays and
cinema and a host of other things.
